Instruction
Whether you are starting an instrument for the first time, preparing for college auditions or simply taking up oboe for fun, my goal is that you leave each lesson feeling confident about your progress. The Confident Oboist Studio is not your typical lesson experience; students have access to unique performance opportunities, special guests and immersive musical knowledge.
I have held a private studio for over fifteen years and have considerable experience running sectionals, coaching chamber groups, presenting master classes, giving instrument demonstrations and designing outreach programs for orchestras, schools and universities in South Africa, Poland and throughout the United States. I earned my Doctorate in 2016 and hold degrees from the Eastman School of Music, the University of Southern California and the University of Maryland.
All lessons take place in my home studio in Cheverly, MD, located just outside D.C. and easily accessible via metro. No previous experience or musical knowledge is required. My students range in age from grade schoolers through adults and I provide many lesson style options for the busy family.
